A clearer picture of how your horse moves.
Equinosis Q gait analysis uses wearable motion sensors to measure movement asymmetry. Used alongside a veterinary examination, it can add objective information to a lameness investigation.
08 STRETTON HILLS EQUINE CAREUnderstanding movement with Equinosis Q.
Equinosis Q is an objective gait analysis system. Sensors record movement while a horse is assessed, helping a vet quantify asymmetry and compare findings over time. The results support clinical judgement; they do not, on their own, identify the cause of lameness.
What we can help with
- Objective measurements of movement asymmetry during a gait assessment
- Additional information to support a clinical lameness work-up
- A way to compare recorded findings when reassessment is appropriate
- Interpretation alongside examination and, if needed, diagnostic imaging
Whether Equinosis analysis is appropriate depends on the horse and the clinical concern. Read about our lameness investigations or contact the practice to discuss availability.
An informed next step.
Your veterinary team will advise what is suitable for your individual horse.
Talk through the concern
Explain changes in gait, performance or soundness and any relevant history.
Veterinary assessment
The vet decides whether Equinosis Q measurements will be useful alongside the physical examination.
Review the findings
Results are interpreted in clinical context, with further investigation discussed where necessary.
Good to know.
For advice about your own horse, please contact the practice directly.
Is Equinosis Q the same as a lameness diagnosis?
No. It objectively measures aspects of gait asymmetry, but a veterinary examination and sometimes other tests are needed to understand the cause.
Can the system be used for every horse?
Not always. Your veterinary team will advise whether Equinosis Q assessment is appropriate and available for your horse.
